ISO 3573 2008 Commercial Hot Rolled HR 1 Steels

Designation for Commercial Steels

HR1 is the designation for hot rolled commercial steels in the international standard.

The Chemical Composition of International Commercial Steels:The chemical composition of Commercial steel HR 1 as defined in International Standard is described as under:

Maximum percentage of Carbon (C) is 0.12 percent.

Maximum percentage of Manganese (Mn) is 0.60 percent.

Maximum percentage of Phosphorous (P) is 0.045 percent.

Maximum percentage of Sulphur (S) is 0.035 percent.

Remaining percentage is of iron (Fe) percentage and with few negligible impurities.

The Mechanical Properties of Commercial Steels in International Standard:

Similar to JIS, The international standard defines the tensile strength of materials but it defines the maximum range whereas the JIS . The maximum tensile strength for HR1 material is 440 MPa. However the elongation is in between 23 to 29 percent minimum depending on the material thickness.

What is HR1 Steels?
