ISO 3575 Drawing Quality Galvanized Cold Rolled 02 Steel

What is Drawing Quality 02 Steel? It is the material designation for cold rolled drawing quality galvanized steels in the international standard ISO 3575. The drawing steel is more draw able than 01 galvanizing steel. This material grade is produced from CR2 steels defined in ISO 3574 standard.

Chemical Composition: The chemical composition of Commercial steel 02 as defined in International Standard is explicated as below:

Maximum percentage of Carbon (C) is 0.12 percent.

Maximum percentage of Manganese (Mn) is 0.50 percent.

Maximum percentage of Phosphorous (P) is 0.04 percent.

Maximum percentage of Sulphur (S) is 0.04 percent.

Remaining percentage is of iron (Fe) percentage and with few negligible impurities.

Mechanical Properties: ISO 3575 defines the minimum tensile strength for drawing quality 02 steels. The yield strength is 300 N/mm2 and the maximum tensile strength is 430 N/mm2. The elongation is between 22 to 24 % based on the gauge length of the test piece.

Equivalent Material Grades: The Japanese standard defines SGCD1 which is comparably equivalent with ISO 02 steel. However FS type A and FS type B are the equivalent materials as defined in American standard.
