ISO 3575-2005 Galvanized Cold Rolled 01 Steels

Designation for Commercial Steels

Commercial 01 is the designation for cold rolled commercial steels in the international standard.

The Chemical Composition of International Commercial Steels:The chemical composition of Commercial steel 01 as defined in International Standard is described as under:

Maximum percentage of Carbon (C) is 0.15 percent.

Maximum percentage of Manganese (Mn) is 0.60 percent.

Maximum percentage of Phosphorous (P) is 0.05 percent.

Maximum percentage of Sulphur (S) is 0.035 percent.

Remaining percentage is of iron (Fe) percentage and with few negligible impurities.

Mechanical Properties:

ISO 3575-2005 does not exactly define the minimum tensile strength for commercial quality 01 steels, however it defines the minimum range of tensile strength as 270 N/mm2.

Surface Treatments:

ISO 3575-2005 defines three surface treatments for galvanized commercial quality cold roll steels. These are listed as under:

  1. Mill Passivation
  2. Mill Phosphating
  3. Oiling
